Focus on IFRS 9: Financial instruments for non-financial people – impairment
BRUSSELS, 4 July 2018 – WSBI will hold a member-focused webinar on Wednesday, 11 July called "IFRS 9: Financial Instruments for non-financial people – Impairment".
Starting at 11 a.m. Brussels time, speaker Tsvetomira Ivanova, who is a financial reporting and taxation adviser at WSBI-ESBG, will highlight the changes that were implemented on 1 January of this year. She will focus on the biggest accounting change – impairment.
When the International Accounting Standards Board (Board) drafted this standard, it was trying to do two things – to simplify the requirements and to foresee bigger losses on the books. Considering that IFRS 9 is a better alignment between accounting and risk management, it will help to revise strategies allowing for better safeguards in the future. This webinar targets the non-financial functions as this project requires all kind of competencies.
Attendees gain insight on what accountants are going through and why exactly IFRS9 and the impairment are good news. They may also suggest topics for the next webinar during the Q&A session.
Participation is free of charge. After your request has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email with the link that you will have to use to join the webinar. You can also follow the webinar from your mobile phone if you download the WebEx app.
