WSBI Zambian member NATSAVE spending K17 million to open branches in five districts.
BRUSSELS, 30 June 2015 – WSBI member National Savings and Credit Bank (NATSAVE) will spend K17 million to open branches in five districts, managing director Cephas Chabu has said.
The bank plans to open branches in Kazungula, Mpika, Chinsali, Mwense and Choma under its robust expansion programme aimed at supplementing Government’s efforts to create jobs for citizens.
Mr Chabu said in an interview in Mufulira on Saturday that NATSAVE is on a mission to make banking services accessible to people in rural areas. He said NATSAVE is spending K3.5 million on the construction of each branch and that the funds are part of the K110 million that Government has injected in the recapitalisation of the bank.
“We will be opening new branches in Kazungula and Mpika over the next two months before opening three more in Chinsali, Mwense and Choma in about four months’ time. We have allocated K17 million for the construction of the five branches, which will create more jobs in the banking sector.
