Government Savings Bank delegation comes to Berlin and Brussels on study visit

BRUSSELS, 23 November 2016 – A delegation from the Government Savings Bank, the WSBI member in Thailand, led by Mr Pitsanu Vichitcholchai, Chairman of the Audit Committee visited today the WSBI head office in Brussels. Composed mainly by the bank's audit department staff, the delegation listened to presentations by the WSBI-ESBG secretariat and by Ms. Susanna Di Feliciantonio, head of EU public affairs of ICAEW – the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Before coming to Brussels, the delegation visited DSGV, the German savings banks assocation, in Berlin. WSBI President Heinrich Haasis and Dr. Karl-Peter Schackmann-Fallis, Executive Member of the Board of DSGV welcomed the visit from GSB and said that the visit enhanced the bilateral cooperation between savings banks from Germany and Thailand
Created in 1946, the Government Savings Bank currently employs more than 15,000 employees and has 1,043 branches nationwide. GSB is number one in deposits, has 2.3 billion baht in assets and manages more than 20 million deposit accounts. GSB focuses on the future and has launched recently the "MyMo" ("My Money, My Mobile) mobile banking application.
