ESBG, EACB call for urgent decision to postpone PRIIPs Regulation

BRUSSELS, 14 October 2016 – The European Savings and Retail Banking Group, together with the European Association of Co-operative Banks, have sent a letter to European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis on the PRIIPs dossier following the rejection of the Commission's Regulatory Technical Standards by the European Parliament.

In the letter, the associations call for an urgent decision by the European Commission to put in place a delay of the PRIIPs Regulation's application date currently set for 31 December 2016. The two bodies suggest to postpone the application for one year in order to align it with MiFID II and the Insurance Distribution Directive's applications.
