​​German savings banks win court case on red color used in logo well known in the country

​​​BRUSSELS, 19 June 2014 – The German savings banks have won a court case agains a commercial bank with regards to the exclusive use of the typical red color of their well-known logo. 

The brand enjoys a very high recognition among the German public and the colour is so typical that it is called "Savings Banks red". Georg Fahrenschon, chairman of the German savings banks association, commented that in the field of financial services, people in Germany spontaneously associate the color red with the savings banks and their specific business model.
