"Main Street Banking in a Digitised World"
More than 300 retail and savings banking leaders from around the globe joined policymakers for the 24th World Congress of Savings and Retail Banks in Washington. Held on 24-25 September, the event explored digitalization and main street banking. The event speakers included U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warrren, U.S. Treasury Assistant Secretary Amias Gerety, E.U. Commissioner Günther Oettinger; WSBI President Heinrich Haasis; Isidro Fainé, President, ESBG and Chair, CaixaBank, and CECA President; Georg Fahrenschon, President, German Savings Banks Association; Luis De Guindos, Minister of Economy and Competitiveness, Spain; Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chair, State Bank of India; and Rajat Bhagava, Joint Secretary, India Ministry of Finance.
