Legal Adviser

The job involves the following:

  • Monitoring the developments at EU level in the fields of Anti-Money Laundering, Compliance, Consumer protection, Data Protection, Insolvency and other topics with strong legal aspects and informing the Members of WSBI / ESBG about these developments
  • Representing the interests of ESBG / WSBI Members in the above mentioned areas
  • Preparing common positions gathering the views of all ESBG / WSBI Members
  • Liaising with bodies active in financial regulation, at EU and global levels: e.g. European Commission, European Parliament, Council Presidency, European Banking Authority (EBA), the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Profile:

 

  • Completed legal education
  • Relevant experience of 2-3 years (e.g. financial services/banking, legal, EU institutions)
  • Good political, strategic and technical understanding of capital markets regulation
  • Understanding of the EU law-making environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural environment is essential
  • Perfect command of English, other EU languages are an asset.
